eMedRec includes a Script Writer with integrated NDDF+ Drug Database and Drug Interactions from First Databank. The drug database is updated on a frequent basis. This feature provides drug information for research purposes for the doctor and the ability to print out drug information sheets for the patient from the script writer or from inside the chart. The patient's preferred Pharmacy and the associated fax number is tracked in the patient's chart for one click faxing or printing of the prescription. The current Medication List for the patient is noted on the bottom on the Script Writer screen.
eMedRec's integrated ePrescribing solution is powered by NewCropRx, a SureScripts Certified Gold Solution. The simple and secure transmission of prescription data from the NewCrop system to connected pharmacies is made possible through SureScripts – the company that manages the behind-the-scenes network. The solution is fully integrated with eMedRec updating and synchronizing the patient's medication list. Potential drug interactions or allergies and flagged before the prescription is transmitted to the patient's pharmacy as shown below.
eMedRec also has an integrated Internally Dispensed medication system for those practices that have internal pharmacies.
Much more information about prescribing options is found in the eMedRec Knowledge Base.
